UK-based printing startup Moo is working with social media giant Facebook on "social business cards," or Facebook Cards. The Facebook Cards will allow online users to brand themselves offline by enabling them to create custom business cards based on their Facebook profiles, such as their Facebook Timeline information and photos.
According to The Guardian, Facebook believes that it's the ideal time to offer a card service since users can now create more creative business cards using Facebook Timeline, which was launched last year. As Facebook spokeswoman Jillian Stefanki states, "Timeline helps people tell their story on Facebook...The Moo.com integration makes it possible for people to take the same experience with them offline."
The Facebook Cards will be available in sets of 50 cards, although Moo is giving away free custom business cards to the first 200,000 users as a kick-off promotion. The price for a pack of 50 Facebook Cards will be about $15.50 USD.
