Apple announces a set of news around the concept of assistive features with a spotlight on the eye-tracking features that will be implemented in some of its latest products. This is just ahead of Global Accessibility Awareness Day with other news such as Personal Voice that released last year.
The eye-tracking support will be added to new models of iPhones and iPads which will be further supported by custom vocal shortcuts, vehicle motion cues, music haptics, and more. Notably, the feature is applied to the front-facing camera on the products to navigate through the software without having accessories. When this function is enabled, users look through their screen to move through apps and menus. To select it, their eyes should linger on the item.
