Austrian design firm Delugan Meissl Associated Architects has just completed the design of the. Expo Cultural Park Greenhouse is nestled in China. It is defined by its use of disused steelworks complemented by a mass of curved glass pavilion structures. It is one of the main attractions of the southern area of the Expo Park, which is built on the former industrial section of Pudong.
The studio has used a steel grid as the main structure and trellis for the various forms of the greenhouse to hold it securely in place. The founder of the studio Roman Delugan shares with Dezeen, "The geometries grow organically in between and around the strict existing grid, performing a vivid and natural silhouette that respects and never touches the remaining framework."
