Lindal Homes introduced its new Evolve collection of homes, which is centered around the idea of a home after the pandemic. The shift is paid attention to, leaning toward more of an open-plan type of design. The homes are covered in outdoor living components, handwashing areas, and desks that are integrated into the home.
The architectural designer who led Evolve, Michael Harris explained "Privacy, we now realize, is more than being in the next room with the door shut. Genuine privacy is acoustic, visual, and emotional. In a house with an open floor plan, there is only one way to ensure this perfect state, and that is to be in two separate buildings. It became clear to me that the appeal of such a retreat could be permanent. This concept of the bifurcated living space with the sheltered outdoor living space, which acts as both the separator and connector, is not going away.”
