This Evolution of Social Media Users infographic is a spot-on depiction of the path that social media users begin, but only a select few finish.
Beginning on any social network is a slow process. You have few friends and don’t know what is going on. With some work, you graduate to become a “Liker” who gives approval to brands, people and places that you enjoy. Likers turn into “Viewers,” who are hungry for content, but do not want to actually participate much.
“Writers” begin writing content for others to consume. Writers become “Promoters” who share and support their favorite things and choices. Finally, a very select few become “Evangelists.” These social media celebrities have a devout following that they can bring around with them.
This seems to be an accurate evolutionary theory -- Darwin would be proud.
