ERDEM's First-Ever Menswear Collection Draws Inspiration from Film and Art
Niko Pajkovic — November 9, 2021 — Fashion
London-based fashion label ERDEM has announced the launch of its first-ever menswear collection, which is said to draw inspiration from the wardrobe of film director Derek Jarman and the paintings of British artist Patrick Proktor.
The inaugural collection delivers an array of sophisticated garments, including striped mohair sweaters, warm-colored cardigans, collarless button-down shirts, corduroy pants, tailored suit jackets, and a variety of knitwear items. According to the designer of the collection, Erdem Moralioglu, the new offering aims to explore the merger between passion and emotion, as well as ignite "the conversation and exchange between male and female expression."
In addition, the ERDEM menswear collection features a variety of floral prints based on 18th-century artworks, which can be found printed across shorts, t-shirts, pants, and bucket hats.
