'Glow' is being introduced to the world as the first-ever ambient home energy tracker and a smart device that uses magneto-resistive sensing technology.
The small, wireless hub gets its name from the colors it emits to visualize energy use within the home. As a smart system, Glow connects to a mobile app to offer alerts that point out where consumers may save money on their monthly electricity bills. In terms of the energy that Glow itself uses, Glow's creators claim that the "entire Glow system uses less energy than a single LED bulb."
When Glow detects that a home is using energy efficiently, its built-in lighting system glows green. Alternatively, when higher than normal usage is detected, the lighting system shifts from amber to red.
