In an effort to encourage a global sense of empathy and understanding, the KIND foundation is rolling out a free learning tool, called 'Empatico,' which is connecting classrooms around the world.
After logging onto the site, teachers can simply select the time slots in which their class would be available for a 40 minute video chat session. The computer program then matches classrooms together, thereby facilitating a more global approach to learning in which students can experience a lesson plan taught in a classroom thousands of miles away.
Empatico serves as an assertive step towards a more progressive future in which lesson plans can highlight the commonalities among peers, ultimately sparking a deeper sense of empathy and connection.
