This easy to assemble emergency shelter comes from designers Nic Gonsalves and Nic Martoo. In light of the amount of natural disasters that have occurred over the last few years, having an emergency shelter on hand doesn’t seem like a bad idea and this shelter can be put together without any tools.
This helpful temporary housing solution is held together using pins and dowels, and is made up of ply wood panels that form a cube shape when put together. Earthquakes, tsunamis and other natural disasters can shake a family to its core. It’s never easy picking up the pieces afterward, but temporary shelters at least provide people with a safe, dry and elevated place to sleep.
This fantastic emergency shelter design has won Nic Gonsalves and Nic Martoo an international award. Providing frightened families with shelter after a disaster occurs is extremely important and this design makes it easy to do.
