UK-based architectural firm Echo has manufactured a new modular pod, dubbed the Eco Pod, that measures 9 square meters and can be used for a wide variety of purposes. It can serve as either a small office or a garden room, but can also be attached to other Eco Pods to make a flexible home that's capable of operating off the grid.
Each Eco Pod module can be fitted with an interior finish and external cladding to suit individual clients' needs. Resting on adjustable legs, it can be installed on uneven ground too. The pods are also insulated with either sheep wool or wood fiber.
Optional off-the-grid extra options for the Eco Pod include solar arrays, composting toilets and log-burning cookers.
