The Paper Pulp Lamp by David Gardener
References: davidgardener & dezeen
British designer David Gardener, like many, was concerned about the waste generated by packaging material, so he created this paper pulp lamp which is both the packaging and the final product.
The two halves of the hand-made lamp open to reveal the lamp's components (bulb, plug and wire) in the cleverly shaped "stand". The stand's shape resembles that of a wood-turned stand but the designer says the shape was actually dictated by the components themselves.
Once assembled, the two halves are reclosed to form the shade and the stand. There is nothing to throw away.
