The prototype for this eco-friendly bridge is just one of the many examples we have seen of shipping containers being used in sustainable architecture recently. The 'ECOntainer Bridge' design comes from Israeli architecture firm Yoav Messer and is planned to be under construction soon.
The bridge is set to link two sides of the river at the Ariel Sharon Park nature conserve. The park is known for its forward-thinking policies on environmental ecology and sustainability.
The bridge is a lightweight structure which will support pedestrians and light flows of vehicle traffic. One of the most exciting features of the bridge is that the containers allow for natural viewing points over the stunning park landscape. The beautiful colors of the environmentally friendly bridge also blend beautifully into the natural horizon.
