Allison Murray of Dream a Little Bigger is exhausted with the ordinary Easter egg, so she decided to swap the bright, loud colors and replace them with a cosmic twist.
Inspired by a trip to Brownsville, visiting the Museum of Fine Art to see an exhibit called Celebrating Space, the idea for galactic Easter eggs was hatched! Feeling crafty one day, Murray gathered some art supplies and went right for the black paint to cover her eggs -- entirely. Not very festive for this holiday, but as she began swirling blues, purples and dabs of gold, her outer space vision became a reality. Using a sponge to create a milky way affect and splattered white paint from the bristles of the brush to represent the a star-filled sky, the eggs looked fantastic.
Easy and unique, this fun twist on Easter will surely bring out the inner alien in you! Plus, it's a lot easier for kids who just want to mix all the paint together.
