The dynamic air suspension for Model S and X cars was done in order to improve their stability at high speeds. Tesla cars with the update will be able to perform better at speeds over 100 mph.
The company has been known to update its cars through the vehicle's software. Incoming software updates are also why the company does not operate on a standard model system that corresponds to a given year. Using a software system gives Tesla the flexibility to roll out new car features through updates, which is a feature that conventional cars do not have, giving the brand even more chances to innovate and surpass the advancements of competitors.
