Taking a page from the book of Ikea, the DS Kit 01 and 02 are self-assemble light fixtures that are both simple and cost-effective. Not to mention that the designs themselves would do the Swedish furniture company proud. As far as ultra-modern lamps, these two take the cake. With an exposed bulb and painted steel fitting, the lights would fit into any home nicely.
Designed by Dino Sanchez, a New York City based artist and designer, the DS Kit 01 and 02 lamps are super affordable despite the use of such high-end materials as solid oak bases and nickel-plated fixtures. Taking no more than 10 minutes to put together, Sanchez states, "I’d be happy if someone came from building one of our kits feeling that they learned something new, like how a lamp is made."
