The DrumPants have gained much attention for their ability to convert innocuous pants into wearable MIDI controllers and music sequencers. Now, its creators are working on something called the DrumPants Trigger-Activated Communication System, a system that helps speech-impaired people better communicate with others.
People with injuries or disorders that impede their ability to speak can tap a trigger on their body or wheelchair to activate an app which then reads out customizable statements, enabling them to communicate with others more effectively.
