The Drive Awake app has been created to help make the roads in Thailand safer. The app was designed by the Thai coffee chain Cafe Amazon and uses eye-tracking technology to tell when a driver is dosing off. For starters, the phone must be mounted at eye level for the app to work. Once the app detects that you've closed your eyes a loud bird call will sound.
After the bird call your phone will direct you to the nearest Cafe Amazon location. The app is a clever piece of marketing and it will hopefully lead to safer roads in Thailand. Here's hoping Starbucks steps their game up and develops something similar to the Drive Awake app.
