The conceptual 'Drilling Water-Scraper' is an architectural design that would work to aid with the shift away from fossil fuels to a new type of energy that's located deep at the bottom of our oceans.
The skyscraper would work by being positioned in the ocean and harnessing the emissions of combustible ice that is believed to be found in abundance. The upper section of the skyscraper would work to capture ocean plastics to make it an eco-focused solution that would solve a number of issues upon implementation. The building would also incorporate 3D printing technology that would make use of the plastic waste for filament.
The conceptual 'Drilling Water-Scraper' is the design work of Xuejun Bai, Chucheng Pang, Lei Zhai, Yuyang Sun and Dianao Liu, and received an honorable mention at the 2020 eVolo Skyscraper Competition.
