Karen Watson's 'Drawn From Words Series' is Classically Illustrate

— September 5, 2011 — Life-Stages
Drawn From Words is not only the title of a soon to be released book of children’s illustrations, it is also the name of an art exhibition that will showcase these stunningly classic works. From ‘Alice in Wonderland’ to ‘Hansel and Gretel’ and ‘The Wizard of Oz,’ the Drawn From Words book and exhibition once again brings to life this timeless tales in a way that the original storytellers would be proud of.

Illustrated by Karen Watson, who recently quit her day job as a VFX compositor for film and television, the Drawn From Words book and exhibition displays her primarily self-taught skills. Yet more than that, Watson states, “My goal has been to find that special story, something enchanting and magical. So, I decided to do 15 illustrations based on the classical children’s books.”
