Dorkbot, “people doing strange things with electricityâ€, is a forum founded by Douglas Repetto. The gatherings give people the chance to exchange creative technological ideas. The forum originally started in New York, but it has developed a cult like following with several chapters joining across the globe. At one of their recent meeting in New York, Jeff Han, a computer scientist demonstrated a virtual lava lamp. The lava lamp research involves expanding touch-screen technology so that users can manipulate many points of a screen simultaneously. Han says the research has promising commercial applications. Oh and by the way the guy in the picture is actually founder, Douglas Repetto, not Jeff Han.
