You don't have to be a dedicated interior designer to recognize the awesomeness of these DIY lampshades from Mostlikely. The Austrian design collective teamed up with Vienna-based artist BOICUT to create what it calls "complex objects at a low price." Said description perfectly describes these lampshades, which actually start life as posters. Should you decide to change your poster into a lampshade, all you need to do is a little cutting and pasting.
In addition to functioning as a poster, the DIY lampshades from Mostlikely also work as masks and can be stacked atop one another to form a totem pole. The artsy animal designs are colorful and don't come off as pretentious, making them accessible to those outside the design community. Here's hoping more designers take cues from Mostlikely and create artsy and functional pieces of design that are sold at a low cost.
