Lyft Offers Discounts on Election Day in Toronto and Ottawa
As the date of the Canadian Federal Election is fast-approaching on October 21st, Lyft attempts to motivate people to go vote, offering discounts on Election Day. The initiative is mostly focused on bringing out Millenial and of-age Gen Z demographics, engaging them with their political duties. Rides to the polls in Ottawa and the Greater Toronto Hamilton Area will be 50% off, with the use of the code "VOTE1021CA."
Aside from the discounts on Election Day, Lyft also extends its partnership to non-governmental funder United Way Greater Toronto who will give away free ride "to those who need them most." In addition, the ridesharing service also joins forces with Apathy is Boring, targeting youth between the ages of 18 and 34, and allotting them discounted rides or free rides for those with mobility issues.
