Very few names in fashion are as revered as Christian Dior; and with the Dior Fall 2013 couture runway show designer Raf Simons demonstrated what it means to be stunning in the fall. Previously critiqued for his work, Simons showed that he is truly liberated, and that he was going to showcase what he wanted.
Taking inspiration from ‘free,’ Simons took his muse literally. There was a mixture of colors, textures and outfits. The only cohesion in this collection was that there was none, and this played perfectly into the theme of freedom. This couture line demonstrated that fashion doesn’t need to be perfectly paired pieces, with matching colors and an overall theme. It’s refreshing to see that there are still people in the fashion industry wiling to take a risk. The Dior Fall 2013 couture collection taught all a lesson in liberation.
