Hall Haus Presents the Design Mixtape Exhibition
Amy Duong — October 27, 2024 — Art & Design
French design studio Hall Haus has opened the doors to a new exhibition dubbed Design Mixtape at Territorio Gallery located in Mexico City. The team recreated a few furniture and object designs with some differences added by local designers during Design Week Mexico. The exhibition displayed work in a wide array of materials from wood, and metals, to resin work as well.
Sammy Bernoussi, who is the co-founder of Hall Haus led the entire project and compared the process to rappers and beat-makers. He shares with Dezeen, "We took the example of the beat maker who makes samples for rappers, and the rappers who adapt to the sample, to the beat. We like to refer to music and sports because it's accessible. Design is not accessible. Music is popular. Sport is popular. So it's to bring people to the design."
