Lately, the design and craft movement has been sweeping the fashion industry. Prada had the Trembling Creatures line; Max Azria featured Van Gogh painting dresses. It seems the line between practicality and aesthetic has been blurred, and to an astounding effect.
The movement is being considered by product designers as well. This bowl, "Panier percé," designed by Guillaume Delvigne & Ionna Vautrin for Industreal, has gone one step further by letting you "personalize" your bowl's design. Of course, for the craft novice, the designers has been thoughtful by providing the "how-to" decorating instruction.
I think, this one is better than knitting. You actually can display it on your coffee table and say proudly that you've made it by yourself... well, almost.
