The Dell Smart Desk
Rahul Kalvapalle — June 9, 2015 — Art & Design
The Dell smart desk blends technology and furniture, and in doing so envisions the workspace of the future. This desk consists of a tabletop LCD and a vertically aligned LCD in front of the user. Touchscreens are available in both screens, with users being able to manipulate objects using their voice or a stylus.
The smart desk was first unveiled at Dell World in Austin and is currently in prototype stage. If commercialized, it is expected to also offer cloud connectivity for easy collaboration.
While the Dell smart desk appears to be ideal for business applications as well as design professionals, it also holds a lot of promise in the spheres of multimedia and leisure computing. One can easily imagine something like this being used in museums, convention centers or even in airport lounges.
