Burgers Architecture works in collaboration with E2 Homes Ltd. on the large Cypress retreat which is defined by a multi-generational living design blended with a Nordic minimalism. Nature is highly considered in the design concept as the modern vacation home is nestled in the core of Whistler's alpine landscape and reflects on both studios' shared ideas of connection and timelessness. It is designed for a close-knit family that spans throughout three generations.
Architect Cedric Burgers took on the challenge of balancing the shared living spaces with components of a private retreat, forming a space that encourages both togetherness and independence. He speaks on the design project, sharing “Each generation had its own priorities, from playful spaces for children to serene retreats for grandparents."
