The collaboration between LuxMea Studio and Shapeways is paving the way for the custom face mask of the future. Dubbed the 'Nuo 3D,' the product differentiates itself from competitors on the market due to its promise of personalization and its "stark departure from the mass-manufacturing convenience."
In order to assure that the custom face masks fit each user perfectly, Shapeways and LuxMea Studios utilize a "video of your face to plot the topology of your lower face." Thereafter, the collaborators use generative design algorithms to build the base of the protective equipment. The designers have added removable valves and washable nonwoven HEPA filters so that the wearer can enjoy clean and pure air. The custom face mask is also designed to allow you to communicate freely.
