'Cube' by Cubify is Unveiled at Ces 2012 as Consumer-Based Printer
Josh Mears — January 12, 2012 — Tech
Three Dimensional printing allows you to print off images in full 3D, however, until Cubify, these printers were not consumer orientated. Previous models of 3D printing had exposed wires or an intricate interface that was hard to navigate, and was not necessarily appropriate for home use. The 'Cube' by Cubify is entirely focused on giving users a friendly and home-based format.
Cubify allows users to purchase the Cube for home use, or to upload 3D-scanned items to the Cubify cloud platform. Once uploaded to the cloud platform, the company will print off the objects for the user, before sending the object or objects to the users home address. The objects scanned into the system range from pots, to belts and everything in between. The Cube will be available for purchase early in 2012, and should retail for around $1300.
