Roland's older Cube Street amp had two 2.5 Watt speakers and offered 15 hours of use; the latest version offers up to 50 Watts of output, has two woofers and boasts 20 hours of running time on battery.
Granted, the newest Cube Street amp is bigger and heavier than its older cousin, but this is a worthy trade-off for the superior battery run-time and speaker power. The Cube Street EX even has a high-strength ABS injection-molded body which makes it easier to haul around for musicians on the go.
The Cube Street EX has built-in vocal and guitar effects, and a preamp optimized to provide clean, natural guitar sounds. Word on the street is that the Cube Street EX will retail for around $699.
