The Craig Green Fall/Winter 2014 collection highlights oversized shapes and kaleidoscopic textile prints. Inspired by uniformed silhouettes, the Central Saint Martins graduate plays with proportion in his latest menswear lookbook.
The designer's pieces are a fresh take on utilitarian workwear that is re-created with a range of floor-length coats, layered tops, wide-legged trousers and masculine skirts. While his silhouettes evoke simplicity, Green's textiles do the opposite. The fabrics were all hand-painted and washed to resemble intricate tapestries and Persian rugs.
Displaying a side-by-side composition of front and back garment views, Craig Green's Fall/Winter 2014 offering is both vanguard and unexpected. The London-based emerging talent first made his runway debut at the London Collections with Topman and Fashion East’s MAN initiative last year.
