People might be familiar with hi-tech lamps that turn on and off with a simple touch or even respond to movement, but the Craft System Series takes them to another level. It is made up of robotic lamps that dance. To demonstrate their abilities in a timely fashion, the light fixtures in the Craft System Series are made to dance around a Maypole, a European folk tradition that often occurs on May Day or at Midsummer.
In place of ribbons are colorful cords, which further brings the future and past together in a playful manner. The Craft System Series was created by UM Project for Reclaim 3 during NYCxDesign. The modern lamp designs are full of character.
