'Hawookey' is a handy device for cracking nuts in a safer and more efficient manner. The user-friendly nutcracker was designed by John Kuraishi after he realized that there wasn't a device available that would allow his daughter to crack walnuts safely. He thus designed the Hawookey so that children and adults alike could prepare their favorite nuts without making a mess or risking injury.
The Hawookey is uniquely designed with double studs to help keep the nuts in place as you crack them. The body is made with a transparent solenoid and features a dual-thread chamber to keep the device together during use. The clever engineering means that consumers no longer have to worry about pinching their fingers or being injured by flying shell pieces when cracking nuts. Currently the design is just a prototype, but Kuraishi has launched a Kickstarter campaign to help bring the product to market.
