Rocking chairs are often just that, chairs, but the Cowrie Rocker has expanded the design to become a sort of hybrid with a classic chaise longue. By doing so, the Cowrie Rocker allows for a more relaxing repose. People will be able to stretch out and rock at the same time. In a way, it is like a solidified hammock.
Designed by London-based designer Brodie Neill for Made in Ratio, the Cowrie Rocker will launch with the new brand at Salon Internazionale del Mobile in April 2013. Its sleek and simple silhouette has been crafted out of wood. Reminiscent of an elongated fortune cookie, the shape is curvaceous and has slight openings for a hollow effect.
