Foster + Partners launched the Cove chair to deliver private space to people who are in busy public environments. The Cove chair is manufactured by an Italian brand Poltrona Frau and has a tall enveloping structure to evoke a space that resembles a mini office. Its seating space is curved in form and wide to offer comfort. The unique seating structure also has a USB charging point incorporated, power supply and a table within the curved form.
The Cove chair was showcased at the airport conference in Stockholm but the label imagines that the furniture piece will be implemented into public spaces, including reception areas, as well as airport lounges.
The cushions supporting the back part of the seat extend out to form ridged details that can double as armrests as well. Additionally, both the inner and outer surface area can be customized with a range of different leather and fabric materials.
