Mercedes created a new controllable display system, which is the companies second iteration of the MBUX information system. The new controllable display system will be included in the 2021 S-Class sedan. The screen measures in at 12.8 inches and the OLED screen provide users haptic feedback. Three additional screens can also be included in vehicle, which is located in the vicinity of backseat passengers.
Changing the display system resulted in eliminating 27 buttons form the vehicle, which means drivers can have more hands-free controls. Overall providing a more hands-free experience will increase some safety aspects of the car. The system also has other safety-focused features and it has the ability to detect if a child is properly attached.
