Landfall Publishing, in collaboration with the developers Skog, Zorro, Wilnyl, Philip and thePetHen, released the viral 'Content Warning' game on Steam on April 1st, 2024. Landfall Publishing offered a special limited promotion celebrating the games release whereby it was free to download and claim for the first 24 hours. This promotion led to the game surpassing 200,000 daily active players and receiving Very Positive reviews on Steam.
In Content Warning, players assume the role of a 'SpookTuber,' a person who aims to create viral videos on the in-game video platform 'SpookTube.' In the game, players descend down to the 'Old World' with a camera and record various monsters and threats. If they survive, the players are able to watch their recording and upload it to the SpookTube platform to garner ad revenue and views. This money can then be used to buy additional gadgets, such as sound effect machines and flashlights. Content Warning can be played Solo, with random players, or with friends in a group of up to 3.
