The contemporary boxy chair silhouette, designed by Paris-based creatives Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec for Japanese brand Koyori, is the epitome of a minimalist, chic design. The piece is one of the newest products to enter the design-minded Dezeen Showroom.
Dubbed the 'Kawara Armchair,' the structure is made out of plywood. Upon closer inspection, one may observe the backrest of the chair and its sides to be slightly curved. This adds a playfully unexpected feature to the silhouette. Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec landed on plywood as the main material for its ability to "provide an interesting aesthetic but also strength and structural stability." The Kawara Armchair is made available to consumers in four different finishes. One may opt-in for a wood vibe or an upholstered design.
