Bike theft is an issue in virtually every city around the world with thousands of rides stolen every year, which is something that Colnago bikes is looking to help change. The bike brand will be incorporating all of its bikes with an RFID tag inside the downtube and added to the MyLime Automotive Blockchain, which is a cloud-based ledger for records related to manufacturing and transportation. This will provide owners with the ability to stake their claim of ownership in a tamperproof manner and will even receive an NFT copy of their bike for even more protection.
The new antitheft initiative from Colnago bikes is expected to launch in 2022 with a new website and app.
