A holiday home located in Hungary dubbed the Clifftop House is designed by Budapest design practice Kontextus Architecture Studio. The home is defined by the monolithic limestone plinth, which is added to support the steel-framed structure of the home.
It also rests on a limestone cliff and is meant to be a naturalistic retreat that overlooks the calming surroundings and Lake Balaton. The plinth is meant to be a natural visual that blends into the cliff foundation. Founder of the studio Gabor Kovas tells Dezeen that "Initially, in collaboration with the client, we strived to incorporate the natural limestone cliff into the design concept, so that the 'monolith' design would appear as a continuation of this limestone cliff."
