The Chillpool Puts a Square Face on the Above-Ground Jacuzzi
Michael Hines — January 20, 2012 — Art & Design
GP Designpartners has conceptualized a modern jacuzzi with fiercely angular lines dubbed the Chillpool. The Chillpool is a word combination of the "chill" and "whirlpool" and is designed to be "a comfortable piece of architecture."
The Chillpool is made out of steel and has a sleek shape and form. The unique shape of the Chillpool is designed to fit the form of the human body. While there isn't much technically new about this design, it does show the evolution of design and of the jacuzzi itself. Typical above ground jacuzzis are relaxing, but they're aesthetic eyesores. GP Designpartners creation is easy on the eyes and functional. Thanks to its square shape, it could easily fit along the side of a high-rise apartment's balcony, unlike the massive circular hot tubs of today.
