Modernized 70s Muscle Cars

Clean the Sky - Positive Eco Trends & Breakthroughs

The 'Challenger T/A' and 'Charger Daytona' are New Classic Muscle Cars

— August 17, 2016 — Autos
The Dodge Challenger T/A and Charger Daytona were staples of the muscle car scene in the late 60s and early 70s, with aggressive and aerodynamic designs that were built for racing. Now, decades later, Dodge is going back to its muscular roots with its 2017 models of the Challenger T/A and Charger Daytona.

The new models, while staying true to their racing roots, are certainly toned down in comparison to the originals. For instance, the original Charger Daytona had a massive spoiler rising several feet from its tail, while the new Daytona's spoiler only rises a few inches. The new Challenger T/A also has a toned down version of the original's most notable feature: the hood scoop. The new T/A also comes stock with the classic side decal that came on the 70s Challenger.
Trend Themes
1. Retro Car Designs - There's an opportunity for car manufacturers to release new designs for classic cars while still keeping the vintage look and feel.
2. Racing-inspired Features - Incorporating aerodynamic and aggressive designs for cars has the chance of attracting racing enthusiasts while still targeting the general population.
3. Heritage Inspired Models - Taking inspiration from a company's past models can create a nostalgic experience for customers while still being innovative with their new designs.
Industry Implications
1. Automotive Industry - The auto industry can take advantage of an innovative market to introduce new models with classic designs with racing-inspired features and features from heritage models.
2. Racing Industry - By incorporating racing-inspired designs and features into street-legal cars, the racing industry can market to a new demographic outside of professional racing.
3. Marketing Industry - The marketing industry can take advantage of incorporating nostalgic elements into their promotional campaigns for companies with a rich history, attracting a new generation of customers while still maintaining their heritage.
