The Chaises En Vrille installation may consist of seats that look very uncomfortable to sit in, but that's because they are more art than furniture, no matter what their form happens to be. Taking on the shape of typical metal garden chairs, almost every piece features twisting elements that would make sitting on them nigh impossible. Thankfully, a few regular chairs have been scattered around for passersby to relax in to fully appreciate the installation.
Created by French artist Suzy Lelièvre, the Chaises En Vrille installation has been placed at the Bullukian Foundation in Lyon, France. A series of simple sculptures, it takes an everyday object and manipulates it in such a fantastical way that it forces people to exercise their imaginations.
