The Catch-Bowl Seamlessly Transforms into a Set of Shelves
Michael Hines — August 9, 2011 — Art & Design
The Catch-bowl is perhaps the first bowl ever designed to double as a shelf. Designed by Torafu Architects, the Catch-bowl features a removable lid and panels that let you instantly turn the wooden bowl into a corner shelf.
The Catch-bowl can actually pull double duty as the removed piece of bowl can be wedged between two corners to become a small shelf. The lid of the bowl can also be removed if you all of a sudden get an urge to play an old school game of basketball (all basket, no net).
Bowls usually aren't worth getting excited over, but I think an exception can be made for the Catch-bowl. It's ability to function as both a piece of dishware and a shelf makes this design a true one-of-a-kind. You can check out the Catch-bowl in all of its modular glory here.
