Design student Bev Johnson draws casual Disney princesses that look and dress like modern day teenagers. While the iconic Disney princesses have been rendered in many different forms, Johnson's drawings manage to make the famous characters seem down to earth and almost life-like.
Johnson’s drawings perfectly capture the unique personality and style of each iconic Disney princess. With detailed facial expressions and intuitive body language, each princess displays human-like characteristics. Each character is also featured in contemporary clothing that draws subtle inspiration from their classic cartoon outfits. As Johnson explains, “I’ve seen a lot of Disney princess interpretations that were high-fashion and I just wanted to draw my own casual version.”
While the casual Disney princesses are less traditional than the original cartoons, each character retains their ironic features and distinct personality.
