With cruise vacations on a hiatus as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact the travel industry, Carnival Cruises sold of its ships to a construction firm called Ocean Builders, which plans to transform it into an office space for remote workers.
The Carnival Cruise ship will be renamed 'The Crypto Cruise Ship,' and will be designed with digital professionals in mind, with a capacity of 2,020.
On its website, Ocean Builders spoke to the ambitious project, stating "Just like the man-made island of Venice Italy became an important center of commerce in the old world, we believe this could be the start of a modern floating Venice of the Americas and an important hub of innovation in the world."
