Cardboard guitars have been attempted by others as gimmicky design projects without too much of a practice purpose, but this particular cardboard reinterpretation of the legendary Fender Stratocaster stands out because it sounds just like the real thing. The guitar was the creation of Los Angeles-based company Ernest Packaging in collaboration with California-based Signal Snowboards.
The Fender Stratocaster is arguably the most famous electric guitar out there, having been used by so many legendary rock and roll and blues guitarists over several decades. However, this cardboard guitar version manages to do it justice. Its structure consists of multiple layers of corrugated cardboard that are arranged so as to make the guitar essentially transparent.
This cardboard guitar is an example of how innovative eco-friendly design can be carried out without compromising on product quality.
