Newly released, the Vans x Ray Barbee 'Capturing the Journey' collection celebrates the career of photographer and skateboarder Ray Barbee by presenting a variety of unique apparel and accessory items inspired by his work. A standout piece within the commemorative capsule comes in the form of an actual camera -- a custom Leica D-Lux 7 wrapped in Vans' signature checkered pattern.
The collaborative camera features Ray Barbee's signature on the top plate, a Vault by Vans logo, and Leica's classic red branding. In addition, the camera is equipped with a slick petrol blue camera strap and comes packaged in a high-quality dust bag.
This unique collaboration makes quite a bit of sense considering Barbee's photography had such a major influence on skate culture, as well as known similarities to Ernst Leitz's work -- the photographer who founded Leica in 1869.
