The name of the Candle-Powered Electric Candle is pretty self-explanatory. The electric candle is powered by an actual candle. Very poetic, to say the least, it was conceived in response to Hurricane Sandy and the devastation she left behind. In particular, it addresses the loss of power experienced by the creator's family and friends in New York and New Jersey.
Based in San Francisco, Instructables Technology Editor randofo created the Candle-Powered Electric Candle using an electric candle, Peltier heat sink assembly, aluminum rod, shaft collars and, of course, a tea light candle to make the entire thing work. Instead of relying on other portable lights that require battery or even kinetic energy, which can be tiring, the Candle-Powered Electric Candle will never leave anyone in the dark.
