Designer Fernando Palma Fanjul created this intriguing Burton Malamute Concept as part of a project for a Masters level automobile design program at Barcelona’s Escola Elisava. The objective of this design was to provide a functional mode of transportation through numerous elements, including snow and sand. The Burton Malamute Concept is outfitted with specialized mechanisms that enable the vehicle to adapt to any kind of soil and track conditions.
Sporting an agile and aerodynamic body, the Burton Malamute Concept and its rear-mounted engine can fly through even the stickiest of conditions. The front of the vehicle is outfitted with skis to help orient itself on snow, sand and slush. The skis were developed to mimic the movements of a skier's feet, making for a smoother, less turbulent ride. The Burton Malamute Concept is able accommodate three people and has the ability to haul cargo.
Adaptive, speedy and wonderfully clever, the Burton Malamute Concept may just take the off-roading world by storm.
